About	Willardeen Harris Hendricks passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Willardeen (Deen) was born in Roanoke VA on March 25, 1934, to William and Alice Harris who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her husband Joseph Luther Hendricks, Jr. Deen is survived by her children; Alan Hendricks and his wife Mary Jo of Charlottesville VA and by Melanie Evans and her husband John of Newport News VA; by her five grandchildren Jay, William, and Thomas Hendricks and Joshua and Katie Evans; and by her sister Judy Cunningham, and husband Jim, and many nieces and nephews. Willardeen grew up in Roanoke and graduated from William Byrd High School in 1952. She studied Home Economics at VPI&SU where she met her husband who was an engineering student. They were married on July 18, 1954, in Roanoke and moved to Norfolk right after their marriage. Her life centered around family, close friends, and church. She was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Home Economics club. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 31, 2016, from 3pm to 5pm at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Funeral service will be on Monday, August 1, 2016, 10 a.m., at the Tidewater Drive Chapel officiated by Rev. Mitchell Harrison. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park and friends and family will gather at the Indian River Road Chapel of Hollomon Brown Funeral Home after the burial.
