About	Kali Gail Hurd, 26, of Roanoke, Va., gained her wings on Thursday, December 7, 2017, surrounded by family and dear friends. She was born in Roanoke, daughter of Rodney and Kim Hurd. In addition to her parents, Kali is also survived by her twin brother, Kody Hurd (Melissa); sister, Miranda Hurd; brothers, Andrew Hurd and Robert Hurd; and grandparents, Pauline Hurd, and Jim and Alease Pedigo; aunts uncles; other family members; and numerous friends; and her Rottweiler, Diesel. Kali graduated from William Byrd High in 2010. At only 16 years of age she began volunteering at the Mount Pleasant Fire and Rescue Squad. When she was old enough to do the advanced training she became a full time career firefighter and EMT for the City of Roanoke; and she still donated her time to volunteer at Mount Pleasant. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Wright officiating. Interment with Fire Service Honors will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
