About	Mark E. Basham, 59, of Vinton, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Jackson Basham and Mary Louise Basham. Mark was a devoted family man, always standing by his loved ones as their greatest supporter. He treasured the moments spent with his family, particularly during their cherished game nights. Mark enjoyed traveling with his wife and embarking on memorable cruises, all while making lasting memories with family. A long-time member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, Mark belonged to Mountain Dale Lodge #49 IOOF. He was known for his hospitality, often hosting friends for gatherings, celebrations, and holidays. In his spare time, you could find him in the garage, tinkerin' on his Jeeps or watching YouTube videos to learn new skills. He also loved taking his Jeeps fourwheelin'. Mark leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Kim Basham; his children, Louis Morgan (Ashley Hart), Heather Kornegay (Justin), and Emily Hylton (Josh); his granddaughter, Avery Kornegay; and a grandson on the way, E.L.K. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Jim Jennings (Lisa) and Rick Jennings (Shelby); his sister-in-law, Marion Forrester (Jonathan); cousin Carol Kelley; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly. The family welcomes friends to visit at Oakey's Vinton Chapel on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Oakey's Vinton Chapel - (540) 982-2221.
