About | Nalah Sinaa Saunders, 17, of Vinton, VA, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 6:44 a.m. surrounded by her family, friends, and loved ones who witnessed her homegoing. Nalah was employed at Chick-fil-A in Bonsack, VA before her death, and she was an A-B Honor Roll Student in her Senior Year at William Byrd High School in Vinton, VA. Nalah lived a happy life full of love from her family and friends, and she shared that smile with everyone she knew. She truly had a huge heart and would give that love and heart to everyone that she interacted with. Nalah shared her love and heart for one person in particular which they had a special bond of love and friendship for many years and that was for Monrell Hardy-Willis her boyfriend. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Kim Saunders, of Roanoke, VA. Those that are here to cherish her memory are her parents, Coretta (Devin) English, of Vinton, VA and Sterling (Taquia) Saunders, of Roanoke, VA; her siblings, Ayanna Saunders, Kayla Pickens-Saunders, both of Roanoke, VA, Kimberly Saunders, of Vinton, VA, Keeleigh Pickens-Saunders, Anaiah Hicks, Caleb Hicks, and Aiden Saunders, all of Roanoke, VA. Nalah is also survived by her loving grandparents, Glen and Carlissa Thomason and Sterling and Pearl Saunders Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Nalah was a Superhero for all that knew her even to the end, she still thought of how she could help someone through this unexplained tragedy. She did this by donating life to someone else. Nalah donated her heart to a recipient in South Carolina, and her kidneys and liver went to recipients in Virginia. Always like her to think of someone else more than herself. #SuperHero, #DonateLife, #17Forever. On behalf of the family, we know our Nalah was loved and she loved everyone. We have truly been touched by the outpour of love from our family, friends, and community. Thank You for your prayers, phone calls, and acts of kindness through this very difficult time for our family. Special Thank You to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital's entire Emergency and Medical Team for taking care of our Nalah and being there for our family. Always Remember #17Forever. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Harper officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday afternoon for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
