About Eunice Cox Smith, 89, of Vinton went to her eternal home in heaven on June 22, 2019, joining her husband, Alburn Smith. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Peggy Smith Stovall and husband, Jeffery and Molly Smith Rhodes and husband, Johnny. She was also blessed with her precious grandchildren, Amanda Stovall Dooley and husband, Kirk; Joshua Alburn Stovall and wife, April; Jessica Rhodes Currier and husband, Richard; and Sara Ashley Rhodes. Great grandchildren are Maddox Dooley, Sawyer Dooley, IvyGrace Stovall, and Raegan Stovall. She worked at Roanoke County Schools as an Administrative Assistant at William Byrd High School. She was a long time member of Belmont Christian Church. She served as a children’s Sunday School Teacher and member of the Knitting Club. She was a member of the Lindenwood Home Demonstration Club and contributed to others her entire life, all the while, being active in the background and never seeking recognition. Her talents were cooking, sewing, knitting, and cherishing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Belmont Christian Church with Pastor Ken Nienke officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from Oakey’s Vinton Chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Belmont Christian Church, 1101 Jamison Avenue, SE, Roanoke, VA 24013.
