About	Barrie Douglas Booth, 83, was called to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his home in Daleville from complications related to melanoma. Born in Vinton, Virginia to Maurice and Frances Booth, who predeceased him, Barrie was an honor student and star athlete at William Byrd High School and was awarded a basketball scholarship to Washington and Lee University. He graduated from Roanoke College. A devout Christian, for many years he taught Sunday School to adults, but found his greatest joy in teaching toddlers and preschoolers about the life and lessons of Jesus Christ. He was a member of Bonsack Baptist Church and the Logos Sunday School Class. Known as a great story teller, he spread laughter throughout the German owned company for which he sold heavy equipment, while spinning yarns to customers from all walks of life in the coal fields of West Virginia to the mountain and valley towns of Virginia where his wit and wisdom no doubt helped him garner numerous top salesmen awards. Barrie is survived by his wife, Barbara Booth of 34 years; sister, Connie Booth Collins; daughter, Michele "Mitzie" Denise Booth; son, Brendon Scott Booth, and wife, Bonnie and their three children, Forrest Booth and his wife, Erin, Ashlyn Booth and Chandler Booth. Also his stepson, David Robertson and his wife, Kathy, their two daughters, Amanda Henderson (deceased), Kristin Atkinson (deceased); and two step great grandchildren, Bailey Atkinson and Connor Johnson. A Celebration of Barrie's life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 with visitation at 2:00pm followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm at Oakey's East Chapel with Dr. Chris Cadenhead officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bonsack Baptist Church building fund or food pantry. Arrangements by Oakey's East Chapel and Crematory, 540-977-3909.
