Samuel Ray West, 80, of Forest, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home Sunday morning, May 15, 2022.
He was the son of the late Harry H. West and Caudie English West. Sam was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby West, and two infant sons, Scott Allen and Stephen Raye West.
He was a graduate of William Byrd High School and served in the United States Air Force. Sam was a contractor estimator for over 30 years and loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing until his health declined.
He was married to Sandra Franklin West for 56 years and had one daughter, Suzette Cavallo (Frank) and one son, Shannon West. He was the proud grandpa of Matthew, Nicholas, and Isabella. He has one sister, Sarah West.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Oakey's North Chapel with Pastor John Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
