Bonnie G. Shepherd, 76, of Vinton, Va., known as "Granny and Bon Bon," passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Violet and James Thomas; siblings, Charlie and Wayne Thomas; and son, Michael Shepherd. Surviving is her sister, Sue Cooper; her sons, Robert (Tammy), Timothy (Dana), and Mark (Cheryl); her daughter-in-law, Deborah Shepherd; her grandchildren, Dustin, Autumn (Austin), Hunter, Karter (Jordan), Deven, Dalton, Kelsey, Macy, Jacson, Grayson, Jerrett, Dyllan, and Averie; and her great-grandchildren, Alex, Gunner, Rhett, and Maggie.

Bonnie was born and raised in Vinton, Va., and was a proud member of the community. She graduated from William Byrd High School.

Bonnie was a sister to three, mother of four, grandmother of thirteen, and a great-grandmother of four. Her four sons were her pride and joy. She was so proud of the families they built. Bonnie spoke honestly without a filter after raising four boys. She was tough and overcame all obstacles. She will be greatly missed. Her funeral services will be private.
