Ernest “Ernie” Powers, 69, of Goodview, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, September 19, 2020.
He was born in Roanoke, son of the late Walter Ernest and Elizabeth Morris Powers.
Ernie was a partner of J&E Masonary. He was a skilled and highly recommended brickmason. He was straightforward, hardworking and honest,
Ernie was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing.
He was a devoted single parent to his beloved daughter, Amber Powers Reed. He proudly accepted Amber’s fiancé, Mike Greer, as his son. For the past 17 years the center of his universe was his grandson Trevor Reed.
He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Boone (Bobby); his brother Jay Shifflett (Janie); stepdaughter Dee Robertson and her children Fallon and Ryan; and other family members and friends.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no formal service, and his ashes will be scattered among his favorite places.
