Barry Craig Hale, 73, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. He was born in Roanoke on January 14, 1952 to the late Woodrow Wilson Hale, Sr. and Nadine Rosemond Harrison Hale. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Skippy Hale and nephew, Wayne Hale.
He is survived by two sons, Nathan Hale, Ernest Hale (Sarah Helvestine); grandchildren, Nathaniel Hale, Jack Hale, Gavin Flint; sister, Cindy Caudill and several nieces and nephews.
Barry had lived most of his life in Vinton and was a 1971 graduate of William Byrd High School. Most people knew him as a humorous fun-loving guy who loved to play pranks on his family and friends. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and slowly driving on the gravel road at Patterson Creek in Craig County telling stories along the way to his family. He was a true salesman in that he was always looking for the good deals when buying or selling real estate, houses, furniture and electronics. He enjoyed being around his family, friends and was fond of dogs.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
The family would prefer you make a contribution to the Roanoke Valley SPCA, 1340 Baldwin Avenue, NE, Roanoke, VA 24012 in lieu of flowers.
