Jeanne Scott Moore, 81, of Vinton, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 23, 2002, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Jeanne studied Art at U.Va. with William B. Owen. She was a charter member of the League of Roanoke Artists. She creatively produced paintings that continue to be enjoyed by private collectors. Jeanne was also an art teacher in Roanoke, and participated in local shows. She took pride in her award-winning work.

Surviving are her husband, Carson (Brownie) Moore; three sons, Timothy Scott Moore and wife, Peggy of Vinton, James Gary Moore of Roanoke, Jeffrey Brooks Moore and wife, Molly of Rockbridge County; a grandson, Adam Moore of Vinton; a brother, C.Y. Scott and wife, Kay of Roanoke.

Funeral services will be at the Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2002, with Rev. Rob Colwell officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or the Third Century Fund at Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church, 707 East Washington Avenue, Vinton, Va.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. William Fintel for his loyal and dedicated care of Mrs. Moore through her illness. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
