Carl Walker Bishop, 57, of Vinton, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2006. He was born in Roanoke, November 9, 1948, the son of the late Emory B. Bishop. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. Surviving are his mother, Virginia McFalls Bishop of Vinton; sister Charlotte Bishop of Vinton; special cousin who was more like a sister, Mika L. Short of Roanoke; special friend, Darlene Jordan of Hardy; special cousin, Pat Short of Roanoke; numerous other cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Brad Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 1264. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
