About	Richard Colgate "Dickie" Firebaugh, 79, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ola and Roy Firebaugh; brother, Pete Firebaugh; and his former wife, Shirley Firebaugh. He was an all star athlete in football, basketball, baseball, track and field while at William Byrd High School and considered himself a professional ice cream eater. Surviving are his children, Ricky Firebaugh, Donna Marie Firebaugh, Scott Firebaugh and Julie Seay Firebaugh; grandchildren, Alysisa, Marcus, Jesse, Jerime, Malcolm, Lenox, and Mesha; siblings, Bobby Firebaugh, Christine Arnold, Wayne Firebaugh, Frances Kirtley; special friend, Doris "DeeDee" Zimmerman; and special nephew, Chase Kirtley. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Horace Light officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday October 2, 2011, at Oakey's North Chapel. Arrangements by Oakey's North Funeral Home, Roanoke, VA.
