Nellie Estelle Gross, 96, of Vinton, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016. She was a true and sweet southern lady who was always concerned about making her company and family comfortable. She was a long time career woman and longtime active member of Riverdale Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her parents, William David and Mamie Turner Bowles; husband, Frank Gross; brothers, Holly, Tom, John, James and Donald Bowles; sisters, Ann Cary, Alpha Hardy, and Virginia Bowles.
Surviving family includes a sister, Mary Gibson; sister-in-law, Wanda Bowles; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great great-nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Carolyn Jones and step-son, Mike Gross.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 1:45 PM at the Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery with Pastor David Jones officiating.
