About	LUCAS, Helen Marie Thompson, (Marie), 78, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2001. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was employed with Heironimus for eleven years and retired from Lewis-Gale Clinic with twenty-three years of service. She was a member of the Roanoke Chapter of the American Ex-POWS. She was predeceased by her parents, James A. Thompson and Clara Poage Thompson. She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Jack W. Lucas; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald L. and Valerie Lucas, Stephen R. and Lucy Lucas; grandchildren, Mandeline Hetzel, Tracy McCarthy, Jason William Lucas and Sumer Shae Lucas; sister, Lorraine Thompson; brother and sister-in-law, James L. Thompson and wife, Pearl; several nieces and nephews; a favorite cousin, Marie Burkholder. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2001 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4040 Williamson Road, Roanoke with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Lane officiating. The interment will follow in Glade Creek Cemetery in Botetourt County. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's North Chapel.
