About	David L. Absher 58, of Vinton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. He was born in Roanoke, son of the late Ray and Joyce Absher. He was also preceded in death by his beloved niece, Erica Thomas. David worked for Progress Press for 39 years. He is survived by his daughter; two sisters; his nephew; and numerous other family members and friends; and his beloved dog, Major. David will be remembered as kind, generous, and would do anything for you and would never ask for anything. He loved UVA, NASCAR, the Washington Redskins, and the Boston Red Sox. When health allowed, he played softball, lots of golf, and basketball. He was a natural at sports but always said he just held his own. David will be terribly missed forever. Psalm 147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." His family will gather between 4 and 6 PM Sunday, July 8, 2018, for Visitation at Oakey's Vinton and for a time of remembrance and celebration of David's life. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
