About	RIFFITH, Geraldine Hale, ("Gerry"), 70, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, November 20, 1998 at her home. She was the secretary to the English Department of Hollins University with a career spanning four decades. Mrs. Griffith was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church and the Rebekah Sunday School Class. She was the widow of Terry Louis Griffith. Surviving are her son, David L. Griffith and his wife, Cheryl, Salem; her daughters, Cynthia G. Hutcheson and her husband, Bob, Knoxville, Tenn., Julie Ann Griffith, Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Katherine Blair Hutcheson, Elizabeth Lee Hutcheson and David N. Taylor Griffith; a sister, Maxine Hale Warren; and a brother, Hassell A. Hale, both of Roanoke; and numerous, loved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Roanoke Baptist Church Building Fund, 6402 Peters Creek Rd., Roanoke, VA. 24019. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 23, 1998 from Oakey's North Chapel. Dr. Darryl G. Crim will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel.
