About | Ann Hannabass Hendrick, 91, of Vinton, passed into the care of her Lord on Friday January 22, 2021 after a lingering illness. Final seven months of loving care given by Carilion Home Health and the Carilion Hospice. She also had loving support from At Home Caregivers so she could remain in her home. Ann was born on November 24, 1929 to the late Henry B. and Alma Hodges Hannabass. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Hendrick; sister, : Ella Hannabass and brother, John Hunter Hannabass. Ann is survived by, daughters, Linda Hendrick Hensley and Alma Kay Hendrick; sons, Lynn Clifton and wife Missy Johnson Hendrick, and Gary Allen Hendrick; granddaughter, Lisa Hensley Gonzalez and husband Juan; grandsons, Jesse Paul Hensley, Brandon Hendrick and wife Abby, Joseph W. Hensley and wife Jennifer, Robert Hendrick and wife Jessica, Thomas Hendrick, William Hendrick and wife Kelly and great grandchildren, Micah Gonzalez, Elijah Gonzalez, Isaac Hensley, Joseph P. Hensley, Ethan Hensley, Ellison Hensley, Riley Hendrick. Born in Roanoke County, Va. Graduated William Byrd High School and attended Madison college for 1 year. She returned to Roanoke and began a summer job at Engleby Auto Parts where she met her future husband, Paul Hendrick. She was an Avon consultant, seamstress for interior decorator Ann Deacon in Covington, VA and a dental assistant for Dr. James I. Gilbert in Covington, VA. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Covington, VA where she was a Sunday School teacher and member of the governing body of the church. After retirement she with Paul returned to Roanoke where they had a longstanding group of Seniors who regularly met for breakfast at various local restaurants. Shortly after returning to Roanoke, Co. she became a member of Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church where she was an active and beloved member. She volunteered at Presbyterian Community Center for a short while. In lieu of flower, the family requests donations to Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1130 Hardy Rd. Vinton, VA 24179; Presbyterian Community Center, 1228 Jamison Ave, SE Roanoke, VA 24013 or to Roanoke Area Carilion Hospice or an organization/charity of your choice. The family will receive friends Friday, January 29, 2021, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church with service following at 2:00 pm. Internment will be Mountain View Cemetery following service. |
