Howard Donald Hale, age 75, of Roanoke, passed away Monday in a local hospital. He was retired from the G.E. Plant in Salem. Surviving are his wife, Maude Saunders Hale; one son, Howard Edward Hale, Roanoke County; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue Hale Bowman and David L. Bowman, Vinton; a twin brother and sister-in-law, Hassell A. and Armintie Hale, Roanoke; two sisters, Maxine Warren; Geraldine Griffith, both of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Donna R. Stanley, Roanoke; Thomas H. Robinson, Luray; Susan Lynn Hale; Amy Marie Hale, both of Douglasville, Ga.; also four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 1990, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel. The Rev. Holly O. Phillips will officiate. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery. Graveside services by Vinton Masonic Lodge #204 A.F.& A.M. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton Chapel.
