About	MITCHELL, Elsie Ponton 70, of Vinton, passed away Friday, March 22, 1996. She had retired, with over 28 years service, with the V. A. Administration in the Washington, D. C. and the Roanoke, worked with Norfolk and Virginian Rail road, Dept. of the Navy and the American Viscose. She was a member of the Vinton Moose Lodge #1551 as former Secretary/Reporter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Edward Mitchell, and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Dewey Mitchell, Lester Fred and Diane Lynn Mitchell, Richard Edward and Vickie Gail Mitchell; grandchildren, Bryan Edward, Nicole Lynn and Laura Ann Mitchell; sisters, Virginia P. Whorley, Sophie Moorman and husband, Rieley; sister-in-law, Rena K. Ponton. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
