Evelyn Marie, 88, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. She was a dedicated employee of Roanoke City Parks and Recreation for 34 years and was a life long active member of Garden City Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was predeceased by her parents, Homer and Madge Amos; husband, Aubrey E. McGeorge and sister, Frances Lockett. Surviving family includes sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth O. and Gayle McGeorge and Richard E. and Bonnie McGeorge; sister, Louise Wilbourn; brother, Homer Amos; grandchildren, Chris and Matthew McGeorge, Angela Booth and husband, Brian, Baron Moseley, Randy McGeorge and wife, Kim, and Jason McGeorge and wife, Diane; and greatgrandchildren, Cameron, Colin, Madison, Molly and Emily McGeorge and Carolyn and Hunter Mosley. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010, at Garden City Baptist Church with Pastor Jay Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 1, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke. Memorial contributions may be made to Garden City Baptist Church.
