About KIRK, Earnest Lee, 64, of Roanoke, left us this day, Sunday, August 27, 2000 to be with Jesus. He was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, and to many a great friend. He was a member of Green Ridge Baptist Church. Earnie served in the Naval Reserves from 1953 to 1961. He retired from General Electric Company on July 31, 1995 after thirty-nine years of service. He was a member of the Woodmen Of The World Lodge #66, Roanoke, Virginia where he served in many positions for many years, both locally and nationally. He was Major of the Uniform Rank past National Representative, past Jurisdictional Officer of the Jurisdiction of Virginia, past President of Lodge #66, past Treasurer of Lodge #66, past Drill Team Captain of Lodge 66, he also served as a field Representative in Roanoke, Virginia. He found a friend, lover and soulmate in Shirley Christine Crouse whom he married, June 8, 1957. They were joined together by God for forty three wonderful years. From his wife and daughters, "We love you dad, we miss you dad" He will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lettie and John W. Kirk, and a brother, Ralph Kirk. He is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Mike Levin, Pam and Lefty Leftwich, and Teresa and Jim Shepherd; his sister, Norma Lawhorn and brother-in-law, Warren Lawhorn; his brother, Danny Crouse; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jimmy, Stephanie and Hailey as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2000, at Green Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Michael J. Palmer officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and p.m.7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday at Oakeys North Chapel.
