About | Charles Ascham Boxley, Jr., 63, of Frisco, N.C., died on Sunday, August 6, 2000, at his home. A native of Roanoke, Va., he was the son of Charles Ascham Boxley, Sr., and Georgene Hunt Boxley. He was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and had been employed in the lumber business for more than 40 years. He was most recently a broker for Meridien Hardwoods of Pittsfield, Pa. Mr. Boxley lived on Hatteras Island for 21 years. He was chairman of the Cape Hatteras chapter of Ducks Unlimited for 13 years and was a past officer in the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club. For a number of years, he was president of the Brigand's Bay Homeowners Association. He is survived by his wife, Irene Clare Nolan; two daughters and their husbands, Kirk and Hoyt Whitmore, and Kelly and Ric Macey of Midlothian, Va.; two stepchildren and their spouses, Kathleen and Fred Andres of Louisville, Ky., and Christopher and Amy Nolan of Lexington, Ky.; and two sisters and their husbands, Rebecca and Bill Booth of Georgetown, Texas, and Pat and Wayne Wertz of Roanoke, Va.; he is also survived by eight grandchildren, Madison Macey, Emma, Abigail, and John Ascham Nolan, and Clare, Molly, Parker and Matthew Andres. A memorial service will be held at the Boxley residence, 50244 Captain's Court, Frisco, N.C., on Monday, August 14, 2000, at 4 p.m. The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to Dare County Hospice, P.O. Box 1000, Manteo, N.C. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo is handling arrangements. |
