About	DREWRY, John Hampton, Jr., 58, of Roanoke, died Monday, November 8, 1999 at his home. He was born in Roanoke on July 25, 1941, a son of John H. Drewry, Sr. and Violet Evelyn Poff Drewry of Daytona Beach, Fla. He was a firefighter with the Roanoke City Fire Department for 33 years and had served in the Air Force Reserves. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Kimberly of California; a brother Phillip M. (Doreen) Drewry of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister, Carolyn Sue (Claude) Whorley of Roanoke; nephews and niece, John N. (Brenda) Whorley, Samuel Lee Whorley and Emilee A. Whorley, all of Roanoke; two aunts, Mildred Fluhrer of Ormond Beach, Fla. and Lena Drewry of Roanoke. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson-Tharp Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd. Burial will be private.
