FLOWERS, Willie E. Jr., 54, of Vinton, entered into rest Sunday, October 12, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 14, 1948, in Farmville, Va. He was a graduate of William Byrd High School, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of the Vinton Moose Lodge. He was a devoted Virginia Tech fan. He attended First Baptist Church. He was employed for many years at Adams Construction and was a van driver for Precious Cargo. Preceding him in death are paternal grandparents, Elizabeth Greer and Frank Flowers; maternal grandparents, Mary and Alvis Justus; brother, Eugene B. Flowers; nephew, Ronnie Baldwin. Surviving are his parents, Willie E. Flowers and Edna J. Flowers of Vinton and Davenport, Florida; sister, Sophia B. Moticha of Salem; brothers, James Ed Baldwin and wife, Nancy of Roanoke, John C. Baldwin of Vinton; girlfriend, Patsy Starkey of Roanoke; uncle, Herbert Flowers of Roanoke; nephew, Jerry Baldwin and wife, Katrina and their children. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery.
