About Lisa Taylor, of Roanoke, was brought to heaven suddenly Tuesday, July 8, at the age of 48. Lisa was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Carlie Savannah Taylor and her father, Donald Richard Maxey, Sr. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Kevin Taylor, her beautiful daughter Makenzie Taylor, 14, and her precious son Mitchell Taylor, 7. She is also survived by her mother Brenda Byrd and husband Edmund, her brother Jeff Duckworth and wife Pamela, her sister Stacy Lynch and husband Claude, her brother Rich Maxey and wife Jennifer, nephews Wyatt Duckworth, Cash Maxey and Miller Maxey, and her nieces Dakota Duckworth and Wren Duckworth. She leaves behind an abundance of aunts, uncles, and special friends who loved her dearly. She was an employee of Hanover Insurance where she leaves behind a number of beloved co-workers and friends. Lisa Taylor was an amazing, selfless wife and mother. She put all others before herself and she placed her children before all others. She loved her husband Kevin and children dearly and she offered them patience and love constantly. An amazing cook, Lisa made the most delicious, comforting food and she always enjoyed feeding her family and making food for others to enjoy. Her chicken and dumplings will be missed by all. Lisa was extremely creative and loved crafts, especially quilting. Her family has all been blessed by the gift of a Lisa Taylor quilt. Lisa's quilts are much like Lisa: They are warm, beautiful, comforting, and original. Her quilts will blanket us with memories of Lisa for years to come. Lisa was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a member of Preston Oaks Baptist Church. We know that she is with her father and lovingly holding her daughter forever in heaven. Lisa's children are handling their Mother's unexpected passing with unbelievable grace and they are filled with inexplicable peace. We feel as though a portion of Lisa's spirit was received by Makenzie as she is filled with calm and serenity. She is exuding her Mother's sense of self control and is abundantly concerned with the well-being of her family at this time. A few words from her mother, Brenda Byrd "Remembering my Daughter's Hands" Guiding her children out the door to church, holding her Bible, Hugging her husband, children, family, and friends Stitching a beautiful quilt, preparing a meal for her family Always ready to help My Handswiping away tears until I see her again in heaven.
