About	Nancy Hargis Schwab, of Hardy, went to be with the Lord January 9, 2013 after a two year battle with cancer. Nancy was born August 18, 1939 in Williamson, West Virginia to Henry Earl and Garnet Hopkins Hargis, who preceded her in death. Nancy graduated in 1957 from William Byrd High School. She retired from the Roanoke Health Department, working in the WIC program. This was a job she loved and all the women she worked with. Survivors who will miss her more than anyone will ever know are husband, Jack; daughters and spouses, Angela Elliott (Larry), Sherri Odat (Aiman), Michelle Bowles (Brian); special four-legged daughter, Sophie; grandchildren, Andrea Akers (friend, Bryan), Amanda Rakes (Raymond), Kristin Akers, Korey Bowles, Logan Bowles, Zain Odat, Hanna Odat, Laila Odat, Holly Martin (Timothy) and Hunter Elliott; great grandchildren, Marissa Shires and Emma Martin; brother-in-law, Jerry Schwab; sisters-in-friendship, Betty Bedwell and Carole Dillion; and friends and relatives too numerous to mention. As great granddaughter, Marissa said, "God needed another angel and he got one." Love you Nance, Jack and Family. A big thanks to Wes Buchanan who greeted us every visit as a friend and had a professional attitude that made Nancy's day much easier as he moved her around Riverside in a wheelchair. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Carl "Skippy" Grace officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
