Veltie Blevins, III, (Val), 25, of Vinton, died Tuesday, September 3, 1996 in Charlotte, N.C.
He was the oldest of five children.
He graduated in the Class of 1990 from William Byrd High School. After high school, he attended Virginia Western and transferred to Radford University. He graduated from Radford University on December 10, 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. He moved to Charlotte, N.C. to pursue job opportunities.
Val will be dearly missed by his father, Veltie Blevins, Jr.; mother, Donna E. Blevins; brothers, Chris Blevins of Charlotte, N.C., Charles and Keith Blevins; and sister, Shelley Blevins, all of Vinton; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted from St. Andrew's Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Monday, September 9, 1996, with the Rev. Randy Rule officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. A prayer service will be conducted at Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
