Shane Eric Jenkins, age 32, of Roanoke, departed this life on Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born in Salem, VA on September 25, 1980. Shane was a graduate of William Byrd High School and later went on to graduate from VCU with a Bachelors Degree in History. He loved working with wood, loved hiking, camping and was a wonderfully talented musician. He had a passion for traveling. Everyone who met him loved him dearly. Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, David and Robin Jenkins; a brother, Troy Jenkins and wife, Kasey; a new nephew, Colton Layne Jenkins; Shane's very special "lady friend and butterbean" of several years, Catherine Foley; grandmother, Mary Renick; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He also had countless friends to always remember Shane for the great person we all loved. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Patterson Memorial Grace Brethren Church, 5512 Hollins Rd. Roanoke, VA., 24019. A memorial service will be at 2pm on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor Don Eshelman officiating.
