About	Michelle Young Stanley Lanz, of Roanoke, VA, passed away at the age of 65, peacefully, early in the morning on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023. Michelle was a consummate caregiver starting from a young age when she would take care of her brothers. This continued with a family of her own where she lovingly raised her two boys and then years later, she was promoted to her most cherished role: “Gigi.” This was also reflected in her work as a nurse. She continued to work as an oncology case manager for years while she was also undergoing her own cancer treatments. Michelle was a child of God. She exuded His grace, mercy, compassion, and selflessness. She was filled with God’s light and self-sacrificial love. And just as a lighthouse guides ships by illuminating a path to safety, Michelle’s life, through her unwavering faith and unconditional love, shined brilliantly, illuminating the path to Jesus for her friends, family, and all fortunate enough to have made her acquaintance. She was and will always be that motherly wing that you felt drawn to for encouragement or to just be a listening ear. Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce Cundiff Young and Donald Leroy Young, and her brothers, Michael Wills and Jeffrey Young, Sr. She is survived by her 2 sons; Jory Stanley and Cody Stanley (Hope), her grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Ayden, Indy, Atty, Evy and Lejin; her brothers, Tim Young (Debbie) and Jamey Young, and numerous extended family members to include nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Michelle’s friends were her family, so she is also survived by her best friends, Debbie Dingus Welch, Megan West Talbert, and Jody Johnston. We will forever remember how joyful our times were together as a family whether it be on the back porch or on a trip. We love you forever and for always. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 31st from 6-8 at Thrasher UMC 707 E. Washington Ave., Vinton, Va. 24179 - please enter through the Thrasher Chapel Entrance.
