John Wilkins Proctor, (Pop), 76, of Hardy passed away Saturday July 14, 2012. He was a member of White Rock Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army as a paratrooper and was a retired rural letter carrier for the US Postal Service. Surviving are his wife of 56 years Nancy Nichols Proctor, son John D. Proctor and wife Barbara and grandchildren Gary Wayne Proctor of Roanoke, Michael and wife Leslie Proctor and Taylor Proctor of Roanoke. Great Grandson Michael Proctor and two special nieces: Shelby Bechtler and Sue Horne. Brothers: Jack D. Proctor and wife Julie of Richmond and Kenneth Proctor and wife Betty of Blue Ridge. Sister and brother-in-law Sue and Leslie Viar and special friend Rita Bryant. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Monday July 16, 2012 at White Rock Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
