Patricia Brown (Patty) Hill, 72, of Fincastle, Va., died on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Madison, W.Va., on January 20, 1945, daughter of the late Doreen Brown and Leonard Brown. Patty graduated from William Byrd High School in 1963. She enjoyed life to its fullest and lit up a room when she entered. Patty continued to smile to the end. She was an avid dancer and belonged to the Roanoke Valley Shag Club and enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach for Shag week. Patty also enjoyed traveling in their motorhome with her husband, Larry, and their beloved dog, Cody. Larry and Patty purchased Crouch’s Pharmacy in Hollins, Va., in 1980 and later changed the name to Hill’s Pharmacy. Patty was secretary and treasurer until her illness prevented this and was very valuable to the business. She loved people and loved the customers. Patty had a vast number of friends. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her devoted husband, Larry Hill; her beloved son, Chad Hill; her precious dog, Cody; her stepdaughter, Tamera Stinnett and her husband, Chris, and their son, Nicholas; her beloved caretaker, Sherry Tingler; and many special friends. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Oakey’s East Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Patty’s memory.
