About ianne Clement Fuqua of Vinton, Va., entered her Heavenly home on Friday, September 21, 2018, at the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, C. Jack and Maude Clement. Dianne is survived by the love of her life, her daughter, Donna Beth Conklin and husband, Dwayne, of Susquehanna, Pa. She is also survived by Donna’s father, step-mother and brother, Tommy and Hazel Fuqua and Tommy (Nadia) Fuqua. Other survivors include her aunts, Betty Dickerson, Barbara (Billy) Bush, Virginia “Doody” Ham, Sara (Don) Prillaman; and uncle, Ernest (Lelia Ann) Clement; a number of cousins including her special cousins, Myra Wood, Susie Reid and Martha Mannon; and brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Rhonda Fuqua. Sometimes you develop friendships that last a lifetime. Dianne was blessed to call Donna Gauldin, Kathryn Sowers and Carolyn Franklin her lifelong friends, whom she loved and cherished. Last but not least, her beloved pet, Ellie Mae, who will be going home with Donna Beth and Dwayne to Pennsylvania. She was a member of Lynn Haven Baptist Church since 1981, where she sang in the choir, performed many solos through the years, and was a talented piano and organ player. Dianne truly loved her music and was blessed with a beautiful Alto voice which she used to share her love of the Lord. She volunteered for many committees and especially loved making out the Wednesday night dinner list, collecting funds and the fellowship of the meals. Dianne retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. During her 30 plus years of devoted employment, she held many positions in numerous departments and at the time of her retirement, she was a supervisor in the Norfolk Southern Communications Department. Many thanks to Connie and Ronnie Kendrick, Terri and David Henley, Brad and Beth Radford, RJ and Debbie Bollinger, Cristy Boothe and countless others for their love and support over the years and especially during this difficult time. The family would also like to thank the staff in the Palliative Care Department at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. Dianne will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018, at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel and one hour prior to her service on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Lynn Haven Baptist Church with her service to be conducted at 11 a.m. Pastor Jason Hay will officiate and interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
