About Brenda Adkins Robinson was called home on the evening of October 5, 2018, after a battle with leukemia. She is preceded by her loving husband, Aubrey Kyle Robinson, Jr., her parents, Robert Wilson and Nellie Overstreet Adkins, and her grandson, Andrew Hayes McKeever. She is survived by her daughters and their families: Rebecca McKeever and her husband Matthew, son Charles, daughter-in-law Lieschen, and granddaughter Charlotte; Debra Walker and children Michael—father Joseph Holcomb—and Kyle and Kathryn—father Steven Walker; Susan Schneider and her husband Sam and children Laura, Adam, and Natalie; Victoria Robinson and her children Ian and Skylar, and their father Joel Worst.
Brenda’s greatest joys in life were her faith, her family, and her friends. She was a member of Vinton Baptist Church and their Sunday School, and she always made sure to pay her tithes. Her husband, Kyle, was the love of her life ever since Brenda made her feelings known in high school choir, and the family is so glad to know that they are together once again. She loved to tell stories of the funny and sweet things her grandchildren did, whether it was collecting flowers for her, counting nickels to learn counting by fives, or reading storybooks and baking bread with her. She made countless Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and weekday dinners out of love for her family, and the grandkids were always running for seconds and thirds. Often, she had to be asked to sit down and eat herself, instead of making sure everyone else had everything they could possibly need. Brenda had friends all over the world—in Ireland, Portugal, and South Africa, scattered across America, and at home in Vinton—and she was always happy to spend time with any and all of them. She was especially grateful for her friends who stood with her even in her illness—Ann Nicely, Judy Kelly, and Brenda Mitchell. She was blessed in life with the opportunity to travel with her husband to Hawaii, England, France, and Italy, and to visit her friends Erik and Irene Woods in Portugal and Ireland.
Brenda was truly blessed in life, with love and happiness during all of her days.
Funeral services for Brenda will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 11:00 am, at Vinton Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Vinton Baptist Church.
