About	Barbara (Honey) Siner Hargis, 80, was escorted by the angels to heaven on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at home in Vinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Steven Siner and Gertrude Upson Siner. She graduated from William Byrd High School, Class of 1956, and Cornett Business School. She retired from Shenandoah Life Insurance Company after 46 years in Group Services. Barbara enjoyed volunteering at First Baptist Church and the Rescue Mission. She was raised up in Thrasher Memorial Methodist Church where she taught third grade and was one of the founding couples of the Young Disciples Class. She attended Evangel Foursquare Church and helped in the TV ministry of WEF, Channel 38. She loved to answer phones at the telethons. She has been a member of First Baptist Church now for 25 years, teaching fourth grade for most of that time. Barbara was a member of WMU and a member of the Berean Sunday School Class. She enjoyed participating in the VFAC Ladies Auxillary. She was past President of Vinton Historical Society and volunteered at the Museum. Barbara is survived by her husband of 50 ½ years, Johnny Lee Hargis; son, Ralph Steven Hargis; and cousin, Christine Elliott. The family would like to thank the Emergency Room nurses and doctors at Carilion and the Hospice nurses that came to the home. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel. The Memorial Service will be at First Baptist Church Faith Chapel at 10 A.M on Saturday, February 9, 2019. In lieu of flowers, tributes may be made to the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church, 321 Marshall Ave., SW, Roanoke, VA 24016
