Eric Ray Fisher, 27, of Roanoke went home on Monday , May 8, 2000.
He was a student at Virginia Western where he studied criminal justice through Radford University. He was employed as a juvenile correction officer at Natural Bridge. He was a member of Mountain Pass Baptist Church of Salem.
Surviving are his mother and step father, Susan and Glenn Markham of Roanoke; brother and fiance Clay Fisher and Susan Champe; grandparents, Clyde and Mary Hudgins; father, H. Ray Fisher of Roanoke; grandmother, Dillie T. Gibson, Salem; two nephews, Jamie Eric Fisher and Tyler Ace Champe, niece, Hope Fisher; Eric's fiancee Margaret Telsch of Roanoke; also Todd and many other special friends and special dog "Ace."
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Ira F. Tolliver and Pastor Mike Lee officiating in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens' Hospital. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 till 9 p.m., Wednesday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
