About	Charles “Chuck” R. Hill II, 61, of Vinton passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Born in Roanoke, he was the son of the late Charles R and Ellen Gross Hill. Chuck was a man of few but meaningful words. He was more a man of action, always showing up where he was needed, tackling the job at hand, and never expecting anything in return. An avid sports fan, he loved the New York Yankees and the UVA Cavaliers. He also enjoyed coaching both of his children’s softball and soccer teams. He retired from Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism, as an Accounts Payable Department Clerk.He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Sarah Chaney Hill, his daughter Melissa Daniel and husband Barry, son Brian Hill and fiancé Alissa Ganser, sister Diane Mullen and husband Pete, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. From 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Wayne Wyatt will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Blue Ridge Cancer Center or Carilion Clinic Hospice of Roanoke.
