Billy Camper, 69, of Roanoke, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2020.
Billy was born in Roanoke, son of the late Frank and Ruth Burton Camper.
He retired from the Night Vision Dept. of ITT after 40 years of service.
Billy loved to read books and was an avid bowler. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 49 ½ years, Kathie; 4 children, Mary Beth Hodges (Craig), Matt Camper, Heather Wiggins (Tyler), Cody Camper; 10 grandchildren, Sierra, Madison, Dakota and Burkely Hodges, Cindel Camper, Willow and Rosie Wiggins, Marissa and Edyn Camper, Everleigh Camper; great-grandson Clay Allen; 4 sisters, Patti Johnson, Nancy Fischetti, Vickie Duffy (David), Diana Wilson (Layne); numerous nieces, nephews; other family members and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held 10:00 am Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel. Pastor Eric Spano will officiate and interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers please consider either Good Samaritan Hospice or American Cancer Society.
His Family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel.
