Russell Irving Barton, 64, of Roanoke, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 24, 2022. He was born on June 17, 1957. Russell was preceded in death by his dad, Lewis Irving Barton, and his mother, Edna Lindsey Barton.
He graduated from William Byrd High School and was the owner of Barton's Trucking Company, The Little Chef, Happy’s Snack Bar, and Hopes Café. Russell enjoyed old cars and boats, telling stories, and watching football. He was a Raiders Fan.
Russell is survived by his brother, Phillip Barton; his sister, Kathryn Allison; two sons, Christopher Cothren and Brayden Barton; his special friend and life partner, Regina McPherson and her daughter, Taylor McPherson; his friends, John Mathena, Doug Arnold, Delane Cochran, Joey Carver, James Myers, and Paul and Shirley Thompson; and many others too numerous to name.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Oakey’s North Chapel with Pastor Steve Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Oakey’s North Chapel.
