It’s with great sadness that the family announces the passing of a beloved father, brother, and friend, Mr. Don Thomas Wheeler, Sr., who joined his lovely bride in heaven on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the age of 72. Don was a retired truck driver and mechanic. He loved his family dearly and would do anything that he could to take care of them.
He was born on November 23, 1949 to the late Lilburn Alvoy Wheeler and Eunice Gertrude White Wheeler. Also, preceded Don in death was his lovely bride, Elizabeth “Betty” Wheeler and a brother-in-law, Bert Corkill.
Those left to cherish the wonderful memories Don leaves behind are his loving sons, Don “Tommy” Wheeler, Jr. (Angel), and Timmy Wheeler (Amy); grandchildren, Kiersten Martin and Tyler Barrosse; sisters, Delores Corkill and Anne Cook (Dale); special friends, Sharon Webb, Ernest Bushnell, and Brian Minter; and numerous extended family and friends.
A funeral service glorifying Don’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11 am at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with family receiving friends one-hour prior. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
