About	Gary E Bushnell, 71, of Vinton, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022. He was born on August 21, 1951, the son of Betty Goode Bushnell and Paul Eugene Bushnell. He was predeceased by his parents. Surviving family includes his loving wife of 44 years, Sherrie Hubbard Bushnell; daughters, Stephanie Bushnell Lane (Scott), and Lauren Bushnell Hatcher (Travis) and grandson, Kaden Knox Hatcher; brothers, Robert Bushnell (Cindy), and Dean Bushnell (Katherine); brother and sister-in-law, Frank Hubbard, Jr. and Pam, and many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Gary retired from Myers Tire Supply, Richmond, Va. He loved music, art, muscle cars, and more than anything else, he loved his family fiercely. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and therapists who took great care of Gary and his family during his hospital stay at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. In the last seven weeks, Gary survived two surgeries, an infection, pneumonia, and less than 24 hours after being diagnosed with Covid, he lost his life. If you want to join our family in celebrating Gary’s life, please honor him by wearing a mask to the viewing and to the funeral. Please do it for him and for all the other immune compromised people out there who are at risk every day. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Lotz Vinton Chapel with Pastor Joey Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
