About	Donald Bernard Ferguson, Sr., 82, of Goodview, Va., passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Friendship South Nursing and Rehab. A man of God, he loved serving Christ and sharing the Gospel with others. A lifelong trucker, he drove over four million miles for Dupont and Allied Systems. Don was a proud member of the Teamsters Union during his professional life. He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Ferguson and Ruby Eula Meadows. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Joyce W. Ferguson; children, Donald B. Ferguson Jr. of Roanoke, Danyel (Charlie) Rucker of Roanoke, Michael (Patricia) Lawhorn of Salem, and Dana Wheeler (Michael) of Bedford. Don had seven grandchildren, Dustin and Dane Ferguson, Brandi and Christen Lawhorn, Jason Fitzgerald, Charles and Charlotte Rucker; and two great-grandchildren, Laken Fitzgerald and Sage Ferguson; sister, Mary Beth Meek (Russell) of Arizona; good friends, Robert and Linda Willis; kind and thoughtful neighbors, Charlie, Crystal, Avery, and Alex Adkins; and his sweet dog, Luna. The family would like to thank the staff of Friendship South Nursing and Rehab and Good Samaritan Hospice for their outstanding and compassionate care.
