Karen L. (Musselwhite) Smith, 73, of Vinton, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Angie Musselwhite.
She is survived by her brothers, Steve Musslewhite and wife, BillieSue, and Larry Musslewhite and wife, Donna; special nieces and nephews, Bryan Musslewhite and wife, Renu, Alison Musselwhite, and Whitney Peters and her husband, Spence Peters; aunt, Patti Heptinstall; great-nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
The family would like to thank the employees of Berkshire Health for their care of Karen for the last five years of her life, and the employees of Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their care for the past sixteen months of Karen's life.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
