About Byron Lewis Cannaday, Jr., 81, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at his home.
The Roanoke, VA native was retired from the US Army having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Byron loved music, singing and dancing, Roanoke and the Shenandoah Valley, and his daily trips to Kroger.
He is survived by his children, Tiffany Laurel Paulson (Nick), Wendy Cannaday Herndon (Michael), and Byron Cannaday, III (Barbara); sister, Jean Frances Voss (Buster); brothers, Father Mark Cannaday (Doris) and Gary Owen Cannaday (Judy); 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 2 pm Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
Burial: Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery
