Lynnwood A. “Bud” Ross, 83, of Vinton, passed away peacefully Friday, October 4, 2024.
He was born in on July 1, 1941 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Ellis and Alma Ross. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Carter.
He graduated from William Byrd High School. Bud served in the U. S. Army Reserve and retired as a Command Sergeant Major. He was the owner and operator of Refuse Equipment Corporation.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Ross; children, Teresa Archer (Ed), Samuel Ross (Marcelle), Chris Ross (Angie); grandchildren, Mason and Mackenzie Archer, Chase and Cory Ross; great granddaughter, Wednesday Carter; sister, Sue Hines; his beloved dog and cat, Missy and Buddy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mark Stephens officiating.
