About	Shannon W. Patterson, 43, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 29, 2007. He was a 1982 graduate of William Byrd High School and later attended Virginia Western Community College. Shannon also attended Vinton Baptist Church and worked for 19 years at United Parcel Service. He was also a member of the Star City Hunt Club. Shannon is survived by his wife, Susan R. Patterson; one daughter, Kendall Patterson; two step children, Shaun and Shelby Hummer, both of Pennsylvania; two step grandsons, Kole and Lukas, also of Pennsylvania; his parents, Buddy and Jeanie M. Patterson; one brother, Troy Patterson and his wife Cheri; two nieces, Ashleigh Patterson and Taylor Patterson; his special friends, Loki and Lexi. Also many other loving relatives and friends survive. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Friday, June 1, 2007 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the William Byrd High School Class of 1982 Reunion, P.O. Box 1412, Fredericksburg, Va. 22402. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 982-2221.
