Dream D'Avanzo also known as Robin Sparks, of Vinton, and Palm Bay, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 1 a.m. due to COPD. She was predeceased by her husband, Bear D'Avanzo. She is survived by her children, Candy (Matt) Perry, of St. Cloud, Fla., Forrest Gabrielson and fiancée, Heather Grizzle, of Anchorage, Alaska, Cassandra (Maxwell) Dahlem, of Palm Bay, Fla., and Michael (Marni) Lodholz, of Key West, Fla.; stepdaughter, Sherrie (Chris) Travis, of Camden, Tenn.; her parents, Frank and Bonny Sparks, and brother, Jay (Dee) Sparks, all from Vinton, Va.; sister-in-law, Gail Sparks, of Roanoke, Va.; four grandchildren, Chandler Perry, Leif Gabrielson, Evan Dahlem and Amelia Lodholz; two stepgrandchildren, Aidan and Dylan Travis; her much loved dog, Rosie, and bird, Johnnie; and many, many friends. We will all miss her tremendously.
During her lifetime she had many talents, i.e., embroidery, ceramics, stained glass, etc. She graduated from William Byrd High School, Vinton, Va., as well as Virginia Western Community College, Roanoke, Va., and attended Mary Baldwin College. Dream worked for many years at Walgreens.
As per her wish, she will be cremated and her beautiful long hair will be donated to Locks of Love.
