About	Thomas Pete (Tommy) Tucker of Vinton, Virginia departed this life July 22, 2016 with his family by his side. Tommy was born March 26, 1952 to the late Linwood Hugh Tucker Sr. and Dixie W. Tucker of Vinton. He was a 1970 graduate of William Byrd High School, a 1974 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College earning a BS in Biology, and later received his MS in Accounting from Avertt University. He was a gifted athlete, playing football in high school and college. While at Hampden-Sydney he was named All Conference in his junior year. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping and loved spending time with his family, friends, and dogs Max and Molly. Tommy’s memory will be cherished by his wife of 16 years, Tammy O’Dell Tucker, daughter of Cletis and Pat O’Dell. He is also survived by his daughter Dr. Tamara Ann Tucker and her husband Ian Wardenski; son Matthew Thomas Tucker; son Brandon Joel Coake and his wife Jessi; granddaughters McKenzie Parsons and Brylee Coake; Grandson Bryce Tucker; his mother Dixie Tucker; his brother L. Hugh Tucker and his wife Linda Sue; his sister Nathalynn (Nickel) Lepchitz and her husband Michael and his nephews Paul Tucker, Cliff Tucker, Zack Lepchitz, Josh Lepchitz, Joey Cox and his niece Amelia Fitzpatrick. A memorial service to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held at 2:00pm on July 30, 2016 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel, officiated by Dr. Jay Owens. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Oakey’s. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the William Byrd High School, Reindeer Scholarship fund.
