David Wordenton (Doc) Woodford, of Vinton, Va., was born on March 18, 1952, and died on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.R. and Beverley Henson Woodford; and by his older brother, C. Ray Woodford. Surviving are his brother, Gary Alan Woodford; his friend and former spouse, Julia Elizabeth Jordan Cox; and their dear son, David Jules Walker Woodford. Doc was the owner and operator of the Z Doctor on Rorer Avenue. He was an exceptional mechanic and teacher who could diagnose and repair almost any problem in an engine. He built his beloved "Green Bean" pretty much from scratch and he loved tinkering with his butterscotch Z car. Doc also enjoyed sitting on the dock of the lake house with friends and family during the summer months. He will be sorely missed by his family and by his many friends and customers.
