About	Jesse Calvin Dawkins Jr., 63, of Vinton, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse C. and Georgia V. Dawkins. He enjoyed old TV shows, crossword puzzles, and family trips to Myrtle Beach. He retired from the City of Roanoke Fire Department in 1997. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Peggy Ross Dawkins, daughter; Amy Dawkins Ralph and her husband Michael Ralph, granddaughter; Georgia Grace Ralph. He is also survived by his sisters; Joyce Howell, Shirley Powell and her husband Larry, nieces; Michelle Clements, Jessica Powell, nephews; Mike Powell, Jody Howell, and Doug Howell. Also surviving are his father and mother-in-law Charles D. and Joyce G. Ross and sister-in-law Catherine Ross. Visitation will be Monday, February 11, 2013 from 5PM to 7PM at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10AM at Mt. View Cemetery in Vinton with the Rev. Brian M. Geiser officiating.
